Greenhouse Project at Satori Sanctuaries

For our first project within the community, The Kalos Project team will be helping to design and install an aquaponics system at Satori Sanctuaries. Operated by Shannon Quinn and her family, Satori Sanctuaries is both an organic farm and a school. Shannon teaches her students all sorts of useful skills ranging from organic gardening to meditation/mindfulness to plumbing!

In the aquaponics system, catfish will be raised in tanks, and their waste will serve as a nutrient-rich fertilizer for the plants. The plants, in turn, will help filter the water, creating a closed-loop system that minimizes waste and maximizes efficiency.

By using this system, the greenhouse project will provide Satori Sanctuaries with a reliable and sustainable source of fresh produce that is not only nutritious but also environmentally friendly. The organization can use the crops to prepare healthy meals for her students while teaching them about aquaponics farming, and can also sell the excess produce to generate additional income for the organization.

Overall, the greenhouse project for Satori Sanctuaries is a great example of how sustainable agriculture practices can be integrated into community-based initiatives to promote healthy living and environmental conservation.
